Torque wrench precautions:

1. Do not use torques wrenches to loosen tightened fasteners beyond maximum torque capacities. (Do not use as a breaker bar)

2. Never use an extension

3. Provide adequate storage to protect torque wrench from damage.

4. Return torque setting to the lowest setting after each use. Failure to do so will cause spring fatigue resulting in incorrect torque.
